Meet Our Governors

Rachel Edwards Barrott - Chair Foundation Governor

I am Chair of Governors at All Saints. Before that I was on the governing board for several
years. I have a son who attended at All Saints and whom is now at university. My day job is nothing to do with education, I am a Family Law Solicitor, and I feel that this offers a different element of expertise to our Governing Body. I am also involved in the church that sits directly opposite our school and assist with Church for Kids, help at the local youth club and assist in safeguarding matters at church. I am delighted to be able to serve the school and the church in my capacity as a Governor. I am committed to helping the school flourish and to grow and am absolutely delighted by the outcome of our latest SIAM’s inspection which I believe perfectly sums up our school vision and ethos and the beautiful environment that allows our children and staff to grow and achieve within.

Naomi Teasdale - Vice Chair Foundation Governor

I am currently Vice Chair of Governors having initially served as a Parent and then Foundation Governor for over 10 years. I was born and raised in Appley Bridge and returned to the village to raise my own family after pursuing a career as a catastrophic Injury and industrial disease lawyer. I have a long standing association with All Saints church having been Christened and Confirmed there, and even laying a brick with Sunday School when the “new” church was built. I am committed to ensuring that our children and staff thrive in an environment where they are nurtured and supported to ensure that every individual reaches their full potential.

Abbie Sturgeon - Parent Governor

I am proud to serve as a Parent Governor at the school and to be part of a community that means so much to my family. I have two children attending the school, so I understand first-hand the importance of providing a happy, nurturing and high-quality learning environment where every child can flourish.

Professionally, I have worked as a Governance Professional within a school trust, supporting effective governance across schools. This role has given me valuable experience in areas such as strategic leadership, compliance, policy oversight, accountability and helping governing boards to work effectively in the best interests of pupils. I hope to bring this knowledge and experience to support our school’s continued success.

As a governor, I am passionate about helping to foster the strong sense of community that makes the school so special. I want to support the partnership between staff, parents, governors and the wider church community, ensuring that our school continues to be a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring place for all children and families.

Rev. Sue Timmins - Foundation Governor

Hi I'm Rev Sue, the vicar at both All Saints Church Appley Bridge and Christ Church Parbold. It's my pleasure to serve as a Governor at All Saints School.  The children love coming across for assemblies in church every fortnight and we love having them!

Jane Shuttleworth - Staff Governor

I have worked at All Saints' since January 2012, after previously spending 12 years at another local primary school. I am the School Business Manager and also the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. I have been part of the LGC since before academisation and am committed to contributing to our school and upholding its vision and ethos in all areas.

Andrew McConnell - Foundation Governor

I am a foundation governor for Appley Bridge All Saints. I became involved with school as a parent, with my two boys currently attending and felt I wanted to provide more than just parent support for this wonderful school.

Aside from being a governor, I am a headteacher at a Church of England Primary School with 25 years of experience in education. Prior to working in education, I was a soldier in the British Army. Although these are very differing careers, I feel that experience from both, help support school in different ways.

My family and I attend Appley Bridge All Saints Church which has further strengthened my own personal links with school as a governor, as a parent and as a parishioner. I am proud to be a part of this wonderful community with church and school at the heart of it and I am committed to ensuring ALL flourish and achieve to the best of their abilities, overcoming any barriers.

Sarah Fenelon Rhodes - Foundation Governor

I joined the governing body as a parent governor and have a son currently in Year 3, with my daughter due to start in Reception next year. This gives me a strong personal connection to the school and its community.

Although I do not come from an educational background, I am a Chartered Accountant and work for one of the Big 4 professional service firms. Through my role, I bring a range of transferable skills including financial oversight, strategic thinking and governance experience, which I hope will support the continued development of the school. I am passionate about the school and its values, and I am particularly keen to help maintain the strong family feel that makes it such a special place for children and their families.

Sarah Mapple - Foundation Governor

I have been a governor at All Saints' Primary School for the past 7 years, firstly as a parent governor and now as a foundation governor, with responsibility for SEND, PE and computing. My 3 children, who are all now at high school, flourished both at Little Saints nursery and All Saints' and I am passionate about supporting both children and parents to have the same positive experiences we had. With such a strong community spirit, links to the church and the dedicated school staff we have, I am proud to still serve our All Saints' community.

After 16 years working for a pharmaceutical company, I took a career break to bring up my children. For the past 10 years I have worked in schools, both primary and secondary and I am passionate about supporting children and young adults to reach their potential, be heard, supported and cared for. The school just keeps going from strength to strength and I'm privileged to still be part of it.
