Spirituality in All Saints'
The Sensory Garden: Take a look at our wonderful Sensory Garden opened officially by the Mayor June 2025 Summer Fair. Our children love to use our garden to connect with their thoughts and regulate their emotions. We thank FRIENDS of ALL SAINTS' for all their hard work creating and financing this project.
The Allotments: The Allotments are an excellent way in which our children learn how to take care of God's Kingdom. They nurture and grow in their class plots learning about responsibility, nature and how to take care of something. Allotments were completed in Spring 2025 and children even ate their own produce by the end of the year. Thank you again to FRIENDS of ALL SAINTS' for creating our wonderful areas and financing the project.
Year of Prayer
Taking part in the Blackburn Diocese Year of Prayer has been a powerful way for our children to deepen their spirituality. Through shared reflection and quiet moments, they are learning to listen for God's presence in their lives. This experience is helping them to develop a personal relationship with God, building a foundation of faith, hope, and love that will last a lifetime.
House Points System
Engaging in our House Points system provides a unique opportunity for children to live out their spirituality through everyday actions. By working together and celebrating each other's achievements, they are learning the value of community and showing genuine compassion and kindness. This system helps them understand that their actions, both big and small, contribute to a greater good, reflecting our core values of faith, hope, and love.
Anti Bullying Day
Participating in Odd Socks Day for Anti-Bullying Week is a fun and powerful way for our children to explore their spirituality. By celebrating our unique differences, we remind ourselves that we are all wonderfully made and equally valued by God. This simple act of wearing odd socks helps us to build a school community rooted in love and acceptance, reflecting the importance of standing up for what is right.
Harvest
Our annual Harvest Festival provides a wonderful opportunity for children to live out their spirituality in a tangible way. By donating food for our local food bank, they are learning the importance of generosity and acting with compassion for others in their community. This simple act of giving reminds them that everything we have is a gift, and that sharing with those in need is an expression of our core values.
Residentials: Tower Wood, Willersley Castle and York
Our residential trips, including adventures to Tower Wood, Willersley Castle, and York, provide a unique space for children's spirituality to flourish. Away from their everyday routines, they learn to place their trust in God and each other, building stronger friendships and a deeper sense of community. By facing new challenges and creating lasting memories together, they experience life in all its fullness, strengthening their faith, hope, and love.
Emergency Services Visits
Seeing and interacting with our local emergency services helps our children understand the importance of service, courage, and selflessness. They learn that these brave men and women are modern-day heroes who work to keep our communities safe. These visits encourage our pupils to reflect on their own roles in helping others, strengthening their spiritual understanding of love for their neighbours.
Headteacher for a Day
Hosting a Democracy Day is a wonderful way to help our children understand the spiritual value of leadership and community. By writing a manifesto, Year 6 pupils learn to articulate their ideas for the common good and to serve their peers, just as Christ served others. The act of voting also teaches them the importance of respecting one another's views and working together to build a strong, fair school community.
Toilet Twinning
Taking part in the Toilet Twinning project has been a powerful way for our children to live out their spirituality by considering the lives of others across the world. By raising money to provide a family with a safe toilet and a clean start, they are learning about global issues and the importance of compassionate action. This act of giving helps them to understand their place in a global community and to live out their Christian values by showing love to their neighbours.
Chinese New Year
Exploring and celebrating Chinese New Year is a wonderful way for our children to build their spirituality by celebrating a culture different from our own. As we learn about its traditions and values, such as family and respect for elders, we are reminded of our own core values and the shared humanity that connects us all. This experience helps us to grow in love and acceptance, celebrating the rich diversity of God's global family.
Pathfinders
The Pathfinders club provides a fantastic opportunity for our children to explore their spirituality through an exciting journey into the Bible. By bringing stories to life through drama and fun activities, they are developing a deeper understanding of God’s love for them and their place in His story. This club helps them to build a strong foundation of faith and to grow closer to God in a creative and engaging way.
Sports Competitions
Taking part in sports competitions against other schools is a brilliant way for our children to build their spirituality by living out our core values. They are learning the importance of teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship, win or lose. This experience teaches them that they can honour God by competing with integrity and respect, celebrating their talents and showing love for their opponents.
