Welcome to Year 5!
Miss Housden and Mrs Waine will be teaching year 5 this year. Miss Housden will be in class Monday - Thursday, with Mrs Waine in class on Fridays. Homework will be sent home on Tuesday and should be returned to class the following Monday. Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday.
DT - Making Toys with Cams Mechanisms
Year 5 have been hard at work making toys this half term. Their toys use a cam mechanism. They used lots of different skills to create their final product including using a hot glue gun and sawing their own parts for the mechanism.
Science - How can we separate a mixture?
Year 5 have been investigating how filtering using filter paper can help to separate a mixture of sand and water. They have used their findings to plan an investigation on how to separate a mixture of sand, water, salt, paper clips and rice!
